
Carbon Project Development
I've spent the past several years building forest carbon projects from the ground up — working with landowners and communities, designing forest inventory and monitoring protocols, and running the science that underpins each project's carbon claims. Below is a look at some of the work I've helped build, evaluate, and grow.

Flyway Forests
Southwestern US
A bottomland hardwood forest restoration project focused on reforesting land along a critical migratory bird flyway. I worked on project design, land enrollment, and forest inventory and field implementation, including FIA-like field plots, helping build a project that supports both carbon sequestration and habitat connectivity for migratory species.




Los Llanos de Apan
Central Mexico
An ARR project developed in an agrarian landscape under VM0047, in partnership with Toroto. This project centered as much on water as it did on carbon: improved water infiltration and water table support were core to the project's value for the farmers and ranchers whose land and livelihoods depended on it. I led the project's technical development end-to-end, from project design & land suitability to executing the forest inventory and monitoring protocols that support its long-term claims to authoring the PDD.




Aguas da Mata Atlantica & Corredores Pau Brasil
Atlantic Forest, Brazil
Two ARR projects developed in Brazil's Mata Atlantica biome, later transferred to Future Climate. Alongside carbon sequestration, I set up biodiversity and land-connectivity monitoring — using eDNA sampling and custom protocols — to establish baselines supporting pollinator and megafauna habitat claims, reflecting the growing importance of biodiversity outcomes alongside carbon in this region. Campeche
Mexico
An early-start ARR project developed on land in Campeche where heavy invasive grass and shrub cover had taken hold in abandoned fields, suppressing the natural regeneration of secondary forest. As part of the Pachama team, I traveled to meet with the communities whose land the project depended on, to talk through what working together would actually look like on the ground. On the technical side, I contributed to land suitability analysis, credit projections, and the baselining work that established the project's starting conditions.
